Sailing off to the sunset

No, not really.  Not quite yet, at least.  But if you are wondering where I've been, this picture should give you an idea.

This year, David gave me the most fabulously fabulous birthday present, ever, an 8-day sailing class package for the two of us to take together!  So that's where I've been in the past few days, busy learning how to tack and jibe and tie a lot of knots.  Not to mention figuring out how to cook on slightly dodgy, if fascinating, boat stove.  Yes, we're living on a boat as well–not the one in the picture but a larger one docked nearby!  My blog might be a bit slow for a few more days.

For a more up to the moment stuff, you can follow me on Twitter and Plodt.  Or, you can just check on the middle column here on Chez Pim where I will be posting regular pictorial updates via my trusty–if also slightly dodgy–iPhone camera.

So Pim, please tell us about cooking on the boat. And remember, yours is docked right now. Imagine cooking during a race, when the boat is heeled over. You get everything squared away…..and then they tack!

I want that for some auspicious anniversary or something.
    What will you be cooking?

Wow how exciting! I have just come back to your blog after a while of being away and it is so cool that you get to go and learn how to sail. I have done it on and off for a couple of years and there is nothing better for getting away from it all! The best way to escape!

You are one lucky lucky girl Phee Pim! Enjoy the water, by the way did you spot any dolphins?
Always a pleasure looking at your blog.
    Keep it up!
Fin (by this time you know who I am)

What a great present! I’d love to see photos of the galley if you have time to post them.
I do a lot of cooking in my RV when I travel, so it’s always interesting to see how smaller kitchens make use of their space.

You’re welcome all. I just adore him. Too bad Stockholm is a bit too far to drop by for dinner!
