Just wanted to say, as a long-time resident of Bangkok who’s read your blog for a long time, you motivated me to finally start my own food blog – on Thailand.
Seriously, why am, a writer, living in the world’s food capital and NOT blogging about it :)
Thanks again, and keep up the good work. (Love your Japan photos, btw).

    Hi Pim,
Fab photos. Not meaning to blow my own trumpet, but I wrote a book about Japanese food which has just been nominated for a Guild of Food Writers award here in the UK. If you’d like a copy, let me know and I’ll get my publisher to send you one.
Least I can do after all the pleasure and insight your blog has given me over the years.

They have a different taste when it comes to food. I’m sure western people might get confused sometimes on how to eat their food. Exploring Tokyo would take you weeks I guess. It’s a very beautiful place.
