I really enjoyed this post, and I am hoping you will continue to post more pictures of your travels. I especially like the picture of the plump fish held up by the fish monger.

Just wanted to say, as a long-time resident of Bangkok who’s read your blog for a long time, you motivated me to finally start my own food blog – on Thailand.
Seriously, why am, a writer, living in the world’s food capital and NOT blogging about it :)
Thanks again, and keep up the good work. (Love your Japan photos, btw).

    Hi Pim,
Fab photos. Not meaning to blow my own trumpet, but I wrote a book about Japanese food which has just been nominated for a Guild of Food Writers award here in the UK. If you’d like a copy, let me know and I’ll get my publisher to send you one.
Least I can do after all the pleasure and insight your blog has given me over the years.

But… tonkotsu ramen in Shinjuku… kobe beef, a few swconds on grill, melting in mouth… sukiyaki… I could go on forever. I envie you, that you got to be there :)
