Just wanted to say, as a long-time resident of Bangkok who’s read your blog for a long time, you motivated me to finally start my own food blog – on Thailand.
Seriously, why am, a writer, living in the world’s food capital and NOT blogging about it
Thanks again, and keep up the good work. (Love your Japan photos, btw).

Fab photos. Not meaning to blow my own trumpet, but I wrote a book about Japanese food which has just been nominated for a Guild of Food Writers award here in the UK. If you’d like a copy, let me know and I’ll get my publisher to send you one.
Least I can do after all the pleasure and insight your blog has given me over the years.
Oh this reminds me of my trip to Tokyo last year! I loved the fish market, it was a world full of fascinating creatures – but I somehow couldn’t consider them as food… I hope you get to see more of Japan, so that we can see more of your beautiful pictures

They have a different taste when it comes to food. I’m sure western people might get confused sometimes on how to eat their food. Exploring Tokyo would take you weeks I guess. It’s a very beautiful place.
